Learning Specialists Appointment Policy
- You may have two (2) 50 minute appointments per week, with Learning Specialists. Appointments must be with two different Learning Specialists, for 2 different subjects, subject to availability.
- You may also have two (2) one hour appointments per week, with a peer tutor, for 2 different subjects, subject to availability.
- You will meet in-person in SALS or virtually via MS Teams.
- Appointments with Learning Specialists begin at 10 minutes past the hour.
- You are responsible for advising the Learning Specialist what you would like to focus on. Upload any information into the appointment calendar prior to the appointment.
- If you cannot attend your appointment, use WC Online to cancel your appointment at least 12 hours prior to your appointment to avoid a No Show.
- If you have two (2) No Shows or three (3) Cancellations, your account will be deactivated and you will have to meet with the Associate Director, SALS prior to booking an individual appointment with any learning specialist for the remainder of the semester. You can still attend Specialist-led tutorials and workshops.
To Book an appointment with a Learning Specialist:
- Select a Learning Specialist's schedule from the menu above.
- Select the Learning Specialist & Resources using the drop-down box under "Show All Course Options".
- Select the week for which you would like to make an appointment. You can navigate to different weeks or find a specific date.
- Select an appointment time by clicking on a WHITE square at your preferred time. An appointment booking window will open.
- Fill out the booking form.
- Identify the topic(s) you would like to cover in the session.
- Save the appointment by clicking the “Save Appointment” button and closing the window.
- Your appointment will appear in orange on the calendar.
- You will receive a confirmation email with the details of your appointment.
Meeting times:
In-person appointments: Meet your Learning Specialist in Room SSB 204 at the Oshawa Campus, or Room 1-10 at the Whitby Campus.
Online appointments: Log into WC Online and navigate to your appointment and join via MS Teams.

Register for an Account:
- Log in to WC Online using your Durham College login credentials.
- Complete the registration form and click on the create account button.
- Follow the instructions provided in WC Online to book an appointment.
